Ildefonso Díaz awarded the Grand Prix Jacques-Louis Lions
The Full Member Professor Jesús Ildefonso Díaz was awarded with the Jacques-Louis Lions Prize of the French Academy of Sciences for his outstanding contributions in the field of Applied Mathematics.

Worth 10,000 €, the biennial prize is awarded to a scientist in recognition of his/her work in the field of Applied Mathematics carried out in France or in close relationship with a French university department, in areas where the French mathematician Jacques-Louis Lions worked: partial differential equations, control theory, numerical analysis, scientific computing and applications. This is the first time in which the prize is granted to a non-French citizen.

The award ceremony was take place on October 13, 2015 at the Dome of the Institute de France.

The Royal Spanish Academy of Sciences wants to congratulate his illustrious member.
